What we do

Somewhere in the world this morning, a new hire opened a box and found a laptop that already had their name on it, their apps installed and their company's policies applied. Nobody at their company touched it. When that person leaves, the laptop comes back, gets wiped and goes to the next hire. That box is the output of our software.

allwhere runs the full lifecycle of IT equipment for distributed companies: procure, deploy, retrieve, redeploy, retire. Our customers are IT teams at fast-growing companies with employees everywhere, and they run their entire hardware operation through our platform and API.

Why this is a hard engineering problem

The hard part is that our product's output is physical. An API call has to become a purchase order, a technician imaging a machine at a depot, a courier in another country and a device coming back on time when someone leaves. Every one of those steps can be late, partial or reported inconsistently, and the platform has to stay correct anyway.

That means building systems that model the real world honestly: long-running workflows that span days and multiple external parties, data that has to stay consistent across services and partners, and an API that customers integrate into their own onboarding and offboarding automation. We operate worldwide, so it has to hold across regions, partners and edge cases we haven't seen yet.

What you'll own

You'll set technical direction for our core platform and API, raise the bar on how we design and operate systems, and ship. This is a hands-on role: you'll write a lot of code, and the decisions you make about architecture, reliability and developer experience will define the product for years.

We're a small company at an inflection point. The work you do in your first year will be visible in what customers can do with the product, not buried in a roadmap.

How we work

We're AI native. Every engineer works with Claude Code daily, and we treat AI agents as a core part of how software gets built here, not a productivity add-on. You'll help shape how that evolves.

Engineers own problems end to end, from a customer need through design, build, test and production. Cycle times are short and we deploy continuously. You'll work directly with product, operations and customers, not through layers.

Who you'll work with

You'll report to our VP of Engineering, who joined this year after ten years at Instagram, where he ran engineering for Reels. He came here for the same reason we hope you will: a small team, a real product with real customers, rapid growth, and problems that don't fit neatly inside one discipline.

What we need from you

• Deep TypeScript, with real production depth in Node (we use NestJS) and React.
• You've built and operated systems at scale in a cloud environment. We're on AWS; you should be comfortable owning production there.
• You've designed systems with real-world messiness: integrations with external partners, asynchronous workflows, data that has to stay consistent across services.
• You build software with AI agents every day and have opinions about how to do it well. We're an AI-native team, so this is central to how you'd work here.
• Strong product judgment. You can take a customer problem to a shipped solution and explain the trade-offs to people who don't write code.

Helpful, not required

Event-driven systems (we use SQS and EventBridge). Experience in logistics, marketplaces or anywhere else software has to move physical things. A track record of mentoring engineers.
